Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c -Shortening
  • 1/2 c Dark brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 1 c Whole-wheat flour
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t Salt
  • 1 t Cinnamon
  • 1/2 c Oatmeal
  • 1/2 c Chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c Raisins (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
  2. Mix shortening and sugar in large bowl until creamy and add eggs and
    vanilla and beat until smooth.
  3. Mix flour, salt, baking powder and cinnamon in other small  bowl.
  4. Stir dry ingredients into the liquid mix. Stir in oatmeal, nuts and
    raisins.
  5. Spread in 13 x 9 inch pan and Bake it 350 degree F for 15-20 minutes,
    until crust begins to brown.
  6. Let it cool now.
  7. Invert on board and cut into 10-12 squares and serve.
