Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of Whole Milk (or 2 cups of Powder Milk dissolved in 12 cups of water)
  • 4 tbsp. of Sugar
  • ¼ cup of Pistachios (Pistay) (chopped)
  • Seeds from 6 Small Cardamoms (Choti Ilaichi)
  • ¼ cup of Raisins (Kishmish)
  • ½ cup of Coconut (Khopra) (dried) (chopped)
  • 1 handful of Vermicelli Noodles (sivaiyan)
  • ½ cup of Almonds (Baadaam) (chopped)
  • ¼ cup of Dried Dates (chopped)
  • 1 tsp. of Rose Water Essence (Kewra)

Preparation:

  1. Wash the dry fruit and soak in a little milk for 3-4 hours. In a heavy based pot add milk, sugar and cardamom seeds.
  2. Simmer on low heat until it starts to thicken. Add the vermicelli and continue cooking until the vermicelli softens.
  3. Add the presoaked dry fruit and cook for 5 minutes. Just before removing from heat add the rose water essence.
